Enferm is a tech company that provides a unique job solution for nurses, offering them flexibility like never before. With Enferm's platform, nurses can pick their shifts with various health providers, balancing work and personal life more effectively.

The business was established in 2015 and employs in the region of 13 people in the UK.

Why did Enferm approach us?

Enferm approached us in 2023 because the leadership team were planning for growth, and know there would be internal changes to navigate.

They recognised that during this next phase, maintaining their culture would be critical to their success. This meant they would need to put in place the right tools, processes and training to set expectations and goals with their teams and leaders.

As with any period of change it was also expected that there might be more general HR issues. The Enferm team recognised they may need some specialist HR knowledge and experience to navigate those effectively.

How people management partners worked with Enferm

Enferm signed up to our HR Advisor Service, which means they receive ongoing HR support from a named People Partner.

They had already started work on developing a competency framework and a performance management framework.

Our first priority was to help support the roll out of the performance management framework by designing and delivering some bespoke appraisal training for their people managers.

The Results

We created and delivered a bespoke training session for Enferm’s managers and soon to become managers.

The training included some general guidance on how to carry out appraisals, set goals and give feedback. During the session our People Partner shared some of the best practice approaches for managers to use when developing a team.

The workshop included specific guidance on how these tools should be applied in the context of culture and goals at Enferm, and how managers should use the competency framework to asses performance.

Enferm have signed up to our HR Advisor Service. That means that beyond this specific piece of work we continue to be available to support the team on any HR matters that arise in the business across a broad range of topics.
